Comic Timing For Perth

01/06/2016

Love to laugh? Don’t miss your chance to see two of the biggest names in comedy when Trevor Noah and Michael McIntyre head to Perth Arena later this year.

Trevor Noah, host of the Emmy and Peabody Award–winning program The Daily Show in the US announced his Perth show for August 27 earlier this week.

Noah, who succeeded the legendary Jon Stewart as host, joins a growing list of stand-up comedians to include Perth Arena on their must-play lists.

In October British comic Michael McIntyre returns to the venue with his latest stand-up show Happy & Glorious which has sold over 400,000 tickets in the UK and Ireland.

McIntyre’s previous visit to Perth Arena in 2013 was part of the biggest comedy tour in the world that year that included an astonishing 27 performances at London’s The O2 Arena.

Perth Arena general manager Michael Scott couldn’t be happier with the popularity of comedy shows at the venue.

“Western Australians love live comedy and they continue to support it through record breaking box offices,” Mr Scott said.

“Last year Perth Arena hosted two of Billy Connolly’s most attended performances ever while over 11,000 people came to see Aussie Jim Jefferies a few weeks ago.

“The venue can feel surprisingly intimate and has a great atmosphere at comedy events. For fans, the arena provides opportunity to enjoy some of the biggest names in comedy,” he said.

Other comedians that have visited Perth Arena include Jeff Dunham, Russell Peters and two visits from both Russell Brand and Mrs Browns Boys.

Tickets for Trevor Noah and Michael McIntyre are available through Ticketek.
