The Role

Perth Arena is seeking a highly experienced Cleaners to join our Presentation Services team in the Assets Department.

We are looking for one Presentation Services Attendant on a fixed-term (6 months) full-time basis and up to 10 staff on a casual basis.

Reporting to the Presentation Services Supervisor and working alongside the cleaning team, this role will carry out cleaning duties across all areas of the venue, including front of house, back of house, kitchens, corporate function rooms, office spaces and bathroom amenities, to ensure areas are kept clean and hygienic.

Role Highlights

  • Proactively carry out general cleaning duties (i.e. vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors, detail cleaning and clearing waste) to maintain a hygienic working environment
  • Cleaning kitchen equipment (i.e. ovens, deep fryers, grills)
  • Operate the pot-washing equipment to clean crockery and kitchen utensils
  • Operate machinery and equipment such as ride on scrubbers, vacuums, buffers, steam cleaners and waste compactors.
  • Ensure the correct PPE is in place and guidelines are adhered to;
  • Comply with Health and Safety practices.


  • Preferably, at least 1 years’ experience in a commercial cleaning, preferably in a similar large scale, multi-facet environment
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment
  • Experience will a range of cleaning techniques and industry equipment (i.e. scrubbers) is advantageous
  • Experience working with chemicals is advantageous
    • A high attention to detail
    • Flexibility to work across days, evening, nights around the Event Schedule (including weekends and Public Holidays)
    • Certificate ‘Use of Hygienic Practices for Food Safety’ (SITXFSA001)

The Role

Reporting to the Technical Coordinator this role is pivotal in delivering events at Perth Arena. Working alongside the Technical Operations Supervisors and external production groups, this role is responsible for supervising activities in the main arena and function rooms.

The role will have a specific focus on the Rigging aspect of the Operations, understanding the fundamentals of the building infrastructure and ensuring safe working practises during bump in and bump out of shows. Daily activities not limited to rigging will also include, set up, and pack down, AV, staging, seating systems, Stock Management and maintenance of equipment within the venue.

This role is full-time, however the possibility for the role to be on a part-time basis exists for the suitable candidate.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • To effectively aid the Technical Operations Coordinator and Manager with the day to day running of the department
  • Supervise staff and maintain their productivity in carrying out allocated tasks
  • Oversee the servicing and deployment of the venues rigging equipment
  • Review Production supplied rigging information and overlay into the Venue System
  • Operate the Arena’s equipment including the use of Sico Staging system.
  • Setup, operate and maintain sporting surfaces including Basketball and Tennis.
  • Setup and operate sporting equipment
  • Basic setup of function and breakout spaces including seating arrangements, minor AV, cabling, projector and minor IT.
  • Assist with recruitment, rostering and training of casual staff
  • Champion Perth Arena’s Safety culture ‘Safety, first, last and always”

To be the successful candidate you will

  • Candidate must be able to demonstrate their experience and sound knowledge of Rigging.
  • Candidate must be able to demonstrate experience in collaborating with industry professionals such as Engineers and Production personnel 
  • Experience in similar role or within a similar, large , multifaceted venue environment is desirable
  • Candidate must hold a valid Advanced Rigging (RA) High Risk Work Licence
  • Forklift, Rope access and Elevated Work Platform tickets are highly desirable
  • Experience using Autocad is desirable
  • Strong management and leadership capabilities to empower, motivate and engage staff.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • The ability to problem solve and think ahead
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Time Target Workforce Management system is desirable.
  • Flexibility to work on a full-time basis with the addition of working Perth Arena’s event schedule, include days, evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
  • Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multi task with a sense of urgency.
  • Possess a high attention to detail.
