The Role

Perth’s iconic world class state of the art indoor sports and entertainment facility Perth Arena is seeking to a highly motivated, hands-on Presentation Services Manager to join the Assets team on a permanent, full-time basis. 

 

Reporting directly to the Asset Manager, this role is responsible for maintaining total venue cleanliness and presentation, projecting a friendly and professional image to our guests.

 

Managing the vast majority of cleaning in-house, the duties extends across all areas of the venue, including the main arena, front of house, back of house, corporate function rooms, bathroom amenities and office space and external areas.

Main responsibilities

  • Take a customer focused approach to the department to ensuring a high level of service is delivered by the team.
  • Coordinator the cleaning schedule to ensure key tasks are carried out, including day to day cleaning, periodic maintenance cleaning, event and post-event cleaning.  
  • Actively lead and monitor the full-time team to effectively prioritize the allocation of scheduled and unscheduled work
  • Manage external contractors to ensure services such as Pest Sanitary, gardens maintenance and additional event cleaning are carried out
  • Manage Perth Arena’s Waste Management Programme to ensure venue targets are achieved
  • Facilitate recruitment, training and development of the Presentation Services team (full-time and casual staff).
  • Working alongside the Presentations Services Supervisor to effectively roster casual staff by using the Time Target rostering system
  • Manage the department budgets; ensuring effective purchasing of stock, equipment and look at new ways to achieve better economies of waste reduction and purchasing of supplies.
  • Maintain stock, plant and equipment to a high standard.
  • Ensure all Occupational Health and Safety processes are observed and followed, reinforcing the safety culture of “Safety – first, last and always”

The ideal candidate will…

  • Have At least 5 years’ experience managing a commercial cleaning team, preferably in a similar multiple facet environments.
  • Have a sound knowledge of cleaning chemicals, products and general procedures
  • The flexibility to work in line with our event schedule including weekends, evenings and public holidays.
  • Be a professional who leads by example to create a harmonious working environment.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with a range of different people.
  • Excellent organizational skills and an understanding of business principals
  • Strong management and leadership skills to empower and motivate staff
  • The ability to problem solve and think ahead
  • Experience with Time Target Workforce Management system (desirable)
  • Intermediate computer capability in using Microsoft Office (mainly Outlook, Word, Excel)
